Coming Soon!

Finally, after selling our house 6 months ago we move into our next project in 2 weeks time. A proper family house with 4 bedrooms, ensuite, garage, garden, drive, and downstairs loo!! The house is stuck in the 90's but that is just how I like them!

I'm putting up the pictures of the old house, finished. These were the pictures taken on the day the agent came round, so very clutter free! Not how it was lived it. We learnt a lot with Sanderson Street. I learnt what not to do next time!

Catch up

I've not really been doing much upcycling, crafting, car booting- apart from selling my junk, or transformations.
My boys are just so much hard work! They, and work take up all my time.

Harris started school in september, so we have done our first half term already. He is quite mischievous, so has had a few incidents at school settling in! He is doing really well picking up with his reading. He loves phonics.

Jude is 18 months old, and finally started walking about a month ago. He is into absolutely everything!

Finding the garden

All my time recently is now spent thinking about gardening. I think I am obsessed. I love the magic of having a seed and ending up with a beautiful flower or vegetable.

Snow days

The snow is making my kitchen really dark.

Me and the boys have been to the park throwing snowballs. How's the snow treating you?

2013 Tasks!

I'm still not back into this blogging lark am I? I don't even read that many of your lovely blogs any more. I'm terrible. I have so much to do to the house I really should have got my arse into gear. Instead, I am back to work on Monday and am finally getting motivated for housey things. Well too late really!

Instead of resolutions I have given myself some tasks that I really want to focus on for 2013. I want to get to December and to be able to have accomplished them.

These are- Getting a level of fitness and doing regular exercise.

Spending quality time as a family.

Be an accomplished wallpaperer!

Take more photos.

Update my blog every month.

That's it really.

So last night I did this......

It took ages! I managed to cut the first piece too short. I am so slap dash I don't think properly when doing things. It was really my other half that rescued my botch job! The paper is Laura Ashley. I can't remember what it was called but it was only £4 in the batch end bin! I only had one roll and liked it so much, so I was only able to do the vestibule at the front door. It certainly makes for a nicer welcome.

I have some paper for the kitchen that I have had since 2011, and some for my bedroom that I have had for nearly a year. I have the rest of the year to get that done though!

What do you want to achieve this year?

New Things

What's your latest "thing"? Mine is fairy lights! I have always loved them, but I have been maybe going a little OTT on them at the moment. I love the LED lights. I find them cheapest on ebay but leave the international sellers out on this one. There are a lot of bad reviews! I have them in the bathroom (battery), bedroom, living room and car lights in the boys room.
Lights on the shelf above my bed.
My fireplace lights. I have moved my bookcase into the hall after completing it's make over. I bought the book case from a car boot sale for £7.50 two years ago, always meaning to paint it. Well I finally gave it the Annie Sloane treatment over the summer. I actually painted it with a grey Farrow and Ball undercoat, as I have been having problems with the orange pine coming through. I know you are not meant to with AS, but I have.
I am quite happy with the little set up, and I can still get the pram passed it! I have all my interior magazines on it to, so I can grab a few over a cup of tea. This was the before!
My mum was chucking out a load of stuff, she has sold our childhood home and needs to clear out loads! I started with an old camera, and a shadow box type cabinet. The camera is on display on the new shelves. I love it.

Wallpaper!

I finally have done something I have wanted to do for years, and that is have some wallpaper in my house! After months of getting samples and taping them to the walls I finally decided to go for something a little different, bold and a bit retro.
This is my dinning room come play room, so I wanted it quite bright as this is where I spend most of my time with the kids during the day.
I finally got round to spraying lots of car boot frames and have a wall starting of my favourite family photos. I am just a bit gutted that the car boot season is coming to an end, with the weather and a new baby I have only got to 3 this year! They really are my favourite part of the week. Ebay and Charity Shops just aren't the same. I am desperately seeking a TV unit & sideboard to replace my beech veneer items downstairs but I can't find any on ebay. I am hoping to get on with a few projects now that H is at nursery and that Jude is getting a bit older. I've discovered enamel paint, and I am loving the bright colours. I have moved away from a white neutral loo and gone a bit mad on pink and blue! I've also bought a new lens for my camera, and I am very happy with it.
