Summer Days

Yesterday we had a BBQ. One where we invited people and everything. I don't usually invite people to the house as I hate this rented scuzz hole where we live, but I spend a while trying to spruce the place up, tidy the garden and make lots of food! I marinaded the chicken myself, made some cupcakes, biscuits, colsaw, then my darling OH burnt all the meat on the BBQ. Its the first time he'd used charcoal and the consensus was that he'd used far too much coal, it was just tooooo hot! Oh well lets hope no one had food poisoning today as the food was cremated!

I don't feel well today. NOT HUNGOVER, I feel like I have a bit of man flu. But after a mega lie in today I feel up to going to the 3rd Birthday party today. Best decide what to wear! I have some amazing new shoes, and I just don't know if they are too much for a childs birthday!

What I've become

I have been avidly reading lots of blogs for ages now, though not updating mine. No one reads it anyway, but I like to put something on here just in case anyone i followed did read this.
I have been doing some card making but have mainly been overcome by sewing now a days!! Ha, something I have never done before but I have been patchworking. I don't have any pictures uploaded yet, I'll put some up another time. I'll put some other projects up instead....


That was a dresser that I bought from Ebay. It was £5. It was a horrible dark wood. Though I painted it white as usual!



This is a hi fi cabinet that I painted white, and its now my bathroom cupboard. I keep thinking of taking the glass out and putting a toile curtain up. I also love toile!!!

Absence

What a gorgeous dress.

SOrry I have not been blogging. Well I don't know who I am appologising to as no one reads this blog! I have been reading lots of other peoples blogs though. I haven't made any cards for ages! I will do, but it is very expensive and takes a lot of time. I will be creative with what stock I have but I don't think I will keep it as a long term hobby.

Instead I have a new passion for all things second hand! car boot sales, ebay! I now love to buy old bits of furniture and paint them. I love colecting tea sets and pottery. I am also obsessed about moving house, and loosing weight. I am not sure if I will ever get anywhere with either of them!

Time flies!

I am so bad at keep this blog updated! I keep meaning to but I haven't been up to much to write about.

I have had a week off this week, I get one week off, then work 7 shifts over 10 days then have another week off, its not too bad but there is always so much to do in the house after neglecting it for 10 days. I have finally caught up with the washing, though not the rest. I have also taken a break from Facebook. I was becoming addicted to it, and just surfing most of the time to catch updates! Most which really aren't important. SO I am on a break until Saturday, mainly to prove to Ian that I can do it and to prove to myself that I really am more productive without it.

Other than housework, me and Harris have been to a few baby things. We went to baby gym on tuesday. I had a good time on the trampolines, and was impressed with how long Harris stood up! I so want a trampoline in the garden, I would burn some calories! I promise.

Well I must get back to this evening's task- painting my chairs. I am taking some old pine, well they are wood, maybe beech into the 2010's. They are being painted white. I am obsessed with white wood and the whole shabby chic look- just wish I had the house for it all. That its a bigger work in progress!

Merry Christmas Everyone

Ho Ho Ho Ba Humbug. I bloody hate Christmas. I think it's because the world wants to stop for a day, but thats impossible. I am one of those people for whom it's impossible to stop for. I worked Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the Sunday. 3 lovely nightshifts. Its Christmas though, the Season of good will. I wish. Its the season of drink as much as you possibley can and bash whoever as hard as you possibley can. Needless to say, I've been busy!

On a more positive note H had his first Christmas, and was so lucky will all his toys. Everyone has been very generous and he hasn't even received everything yet! We did not have a traditional dinner. We went out for a curry. It was really busy at the restaurant and it was really good value.


For New Year I am going to make some resolutions. I make the same resolution every year, to loose 3 stone! I have accepted that this is never going to happen. I lost 2 stone last year, which is something I have not done before. Granted it was baby weight and needed to come off, though now I know I can do that I am going to try and get my BMI down to under 25, making me not over weight. I have never not been over weight my whole adult life, so I am going to see if I can achieve this. I need to loose 1.5 stones to do that. I got a lovely set of weighing scales for Christmas so I will be able to put them to good use!

Here's to a lighter me for 2010. The other things I want to achieve in 2010 is to move house. I can't live in this house anymore. I need my own home. I hate renting!!

Where have I been?

I have not blogged for ages. Being back at work has really taken it out of me. The night shifts are a killer, and are really boring. I am struggling with knowing what to do, I feel like such a failure. I am hoping that it will come back to me, but its been 2 months now and its not getting any easier!

H is being a bit of a nightmare on the shifts that I am at work. Its taking it out of Ian, I keep thinking its Ian, but one set it was a tooth coming through and now its a cold. He doesn't cope with pain very well at all, just like his mum!! He is getting really big now. I have decided to skip 9-12 month clothes and he's in 12-18months. He's been in a while now. He's so long and so chunky!

Have have been trying to make some Christmas cards. My mum bought me lots of christmas things in August, and I finally got some promarkers this week so I have been practising, but I am just not sure I have the imagination! I have also subscribed to 2 cardmaking magazines to get some techniques right.

I also haven't been taking that many pictures and haven't up loaded many on to the computer! I'm so slack. Maybe one day I will start getting motived and organised with my life. To be honest I feel like sleeping for a few days, and then buying some energy and zest for life! Now where can I buy that from???
